Mortal Kombat: Best Fatalities (MK 1 - 3)
Posted by 2Three filed in General
What would Mortal Kombat be without Fatalities? It’s safe to say that the ability to perform these gory finishing moves after defeating your opponents has always been one of the more appealing attributes of this classic franchise, and it certainly contributed to its success.
For the hell of it, let’s take a look at a few of my favorite Fatalities from the first Mortal Kombat to MK 3: Read the rest of this entry »
Worst Games Ever!
Posted by 2Three filed in General
Just to shake things up a little bit, I’d like to share with you what I consider to be the worst old school games I’ve ever played. I absolutely hated these games and if you happen to have copies of them lying around, I implore you to dispose of them immediately, preferably by burning them…
Without further adieu, here are my least favorite old school games: Read the rest of this entry »
Mario Kart: Most Influential Game of all Time?
Posted by 2Three filed in GeneralA couple weeks ago, Guinness World Records compiled a list of what they considered to be the top 50 console games in history, based on “initial impact and lasting legacy.”
Ranked at number one is none other than Mario Kart for the Super NES. Alright, I won’t dispute the greatness of this franchise, and its success certainly resulted in the production of numerous sequels and countless rip-off games. But should it be ranked number one? I’d have to say no. Read the rest of this entry »
Videogame Console Timeline
Posted by 2Three filed in GeneralThe title is pretty self-explanatory. Major props to anyone that has owned all of these consoles. In fact, major props to anyone that has even owned most of them. Enjoy the video, it’s pretty informative, albeit not very flashy.
Sonic Unleashed: A Step in the Right Direction?
Posted by 2Three filed in GeneralIf you’re anything like me, you haven’t cared much for any of the “new” Sonic games in years. Once Sega strayed from the classic 2D format, I really lost interest in playing any of the new titles.

Although the full version has been out for a while now, I recently tried the Sonic Unleashed demo for the Xbox 360. Not expecting much, I was actually really impressed. The demo was included in a disc from OXM, and to be honest, I wasn’t overly interested in trying it. A couple nights ago while trying to figure out what I wanted to play, I said “what the hell” and launched the demo.
Now, Sonic Unleashed certainly doesn’t hold a candle in my eyes compared to the classic Genesis titles. But I would have to say that it’s definitely a step in the right direction. To my amazement, I enjoyed it and I’m interested in playing more.
Generally speaking, the graphics are very modern and 3D. While there are sections that sport full 3D or third person movement, there are also some parts where the camera shifts to an angle reminiscent of the old 2D games. To my delight, you can only navigate left or right, or basically, side-scroll. These parts look brilliant, sporting modern HD visuals, while creating a similar experience and feel as the old Genesis classics. Throw in a few old school sound effects, and for a brief moment I remembered how it felt to be ten years old in awe of the blazing speed and gorgeous graphics offered by Sonic games. Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection
Posted by 2Three filed in General, Sega Genesis
You can imagine my excitement when I was buying some DVDs on Amazon the other day and I learned about the existence of Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection (Xbox 360 & PS3) thanks to the site’s recommendation feature.
As a gamer that has a soft spot for the classics, but also a passion for the modern wonders of today’s machines, I can’t wait to pop this disc into my Xbox 360 so I’ll be able to play 40 (!) classic Genesis titles in HD on my 42″ LCD television with surround sound. Sick. This disc includes all of the classic Sonic titles, and pretty well every Sega game of significance from the 16-bit days. It’s packed with content and should keep you busy for a while. Have a look at this trailer for more details: Read the rest of this entry »
Puzzle Bobble Flash Game
Posted by 2Three filed in Flash Games
Also known as Bust-a-Move, this is probably the most fun puzzle game ever created. Anyone who has played this game before is aware of how addicting it can be, so I hope you’ve got a free day to waste once you start. If not, best if you leave now and come back when you have some spare time, else you’re going to miss those plans of yours tonight.
The controls are pretty simple. Use the arrow keys to guide your shot, and push the space bar to fire. And you know the rules: Match three bubbles of the same color to make them disappear. Once they’re all gone, you’ve cleared the round.
